Tracy Barbutes is a photojournalist based in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, dividing her time between Yosemite National Park, California, and Reno, Nevada. A life-long love of storytelling, combined with an insatiable curiosity, led Ms. Barbutes to the world of photojournalism. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, Mother Jones, High Country News and the Wall Street Journal, among others. Much of her work focuses on environmental and women’s issues. She is a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). She is a former McClatchy Newspapers photographer.
