Juan Arredondo is a photographer based in Bogotá, Colombia and New York. From 2009 to 2011, he interned for Eugene Richards and Lori Grinker and held a teacher assistant position at the International Center of Photography in New York City. His work has been recognized by PDN Photo Annual, PX3 Prix de la Photographie, The Yarka Vendriska Scholarship, and the Magenta Foundation. Arredondo was selected for the Eddie Adams Workshop, nominated for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass, received the Getty grant for editorial photography (2014), the Aaron Siskind Fellowship (2015), the ICRC Humanitarian Visa D’Or Award (2016) and a World Press Photo Award (2018). Juan is a regular contributor for the New York Times and National Geographic. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, and Le Monde. He’s been commissioned by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), International Rescue Committee (IRC), and Save the Children.
