Amsatou Diallo was born and raised in S├ęgou, Mali. She became a photographer after attending the Rencontres de Bamako | Biennale Africaines de la Photographie in 2005. After attending the Centre de Formation de la Photographie for one year, she created the Association des Femmes Photographes du Mali in 2007, an organization that offers workshops and lectures to upcoming photographers, where she is president. The main focus of her work are the actual problems facing Africa today, the role of women in society, and the chores of life, sometimes by producing surrealistic images.
