Heidi Levine is an award-winning American freelance photojournalist based in Jerusalem, represented by the French Photo agency Sipa Press. Levine has been covering the Middle East’s most tragic wars, conflicts, and their aftermath for over three decades. Her sensitive photographs from the front-line action and behind-the-scenes human stories have appeared in numerous international publications including Time, Stern, Focus, Paris Match, L’Express, Newsweek, the New York Times Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine, Forbes, Amnesty International, and many more. Heidi Levine is the inaugural winner of the Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award. The award was created to honor the courage and dedication of Pulitzer Prize-winning AP photographer Anja Niedringhaus, who was killed while reporting in Afghanistan in 2014.
