In her two-recent series, Twelve Moons and Graffiti, she blends the roots of western and eastern culture and shows how socio-political environments shape cultural identity. Yuan studied fine art in Taiwan and attended the New York Film Academy. Her work has been exhibited in Europe, Taiwan, China, and the United States and was selected for Grand Prize at Kaunas Biennial (2012). She is currently living and working in both Taipei and New York. (Photo shot in Taipei, Taiwan, 2015.)
